Ghost Island

Arriving at Hemlock Harbor
1. Go left along Main Street, past the Bank, and get the salt from the man in front of the Gingerbread House bakery.
2. At the cemetery, get the Celebrity Spirits pamphlet from the tour guide.
3. Talk to the man looking for his uncle's gravesite.
4. Go back to the newspaper building and down into the basement. Find the listing for Silas Moon in the burial records. (page 4)
5. Go to the cemetery and give the man the information. He gives you his room key at the Inn.

The Inn and Haunted House (The Woman in the Window)
6. Go right of Main street to the Inn, next to the Haunted House. Check in with the owner and then go upstairs to room 2-B, where you can take a rest.
7. When you wake up, things are mysteriously moving about the room. But when you investigate, you find that the inn owners are just fooling you.
8. Go downstairs, where you can now pick up the violin next to the piano.
9. Leave and go next door to the Haunted House, which you can reach by bouncing on the tent of a ghost hunter camped there.
10. Use the violin, and play the entire tune. You will see something in the attic window.
11. Jump down, as the magistrate arrives to take away the camper. Use his binoculars to see the upstairs window. Bounce back up and enter through the steel basement door.
12. Cross the basement, and when the stairs collapse, push the large box over to jump to the first floor. Enter the door to the second floor.
13. Use the telescope at the window (focus with the ring) to look at the prison and lighthouse along the bay, untl you are startled by the arrival of a woman. The woman (Fiona) suggests that you can find more answers if you get some help, notably Jane the baker at the Gingerbread House.

Equipment and the Cemetery (Cemetery Specter)
14. Go to the bakery and Jane will provide you with some hig-tech ghost-hunting equipment : thermal imager, EMF meter, thermometer, and spectral camera.
15. Go to the cemetery to investigate the Cemetery Specter. Work your way through the hedge rows to the A gate at upper left.
16. Go right and climb up to meet the female ghost hunter, then hide to await the Specter, who arrives wearing a hood and carrying a rose. Use the spectral camera to take his photo, and he disappears again.
17. Go to the upper right corner of the maze, through Gate B, where you will meet an eccentric ghost hunter near the shed where the Engraver works.
18. Exit gate B, press H to exit the cemetery. Take the specter photo back to the Herald, whose editor has promised a reward for ghostly evidence.
Newspaper and Bank (Tireless Thief part 1)
19. The editor pays you 50 dollars for the photo. Take it next door to deposit it in the bank.
20. The bank is closing, so you take it to the Vault downstairs. When the guard opens it up, the dog begins to bark. Use the thrmal imager to spot someone beneath the vault floor.
21. Go right to the newspaper to find a special edition has been released with your photo of the specter. The Magistrate arrives and disperses the crowd.
22. Go back to the shore by the Haunted House, and give your room key to the boat pilot.

The Prison Island (Tireless Thief part 2, Warden's Sweet Tooth)
(*can, confusingly, be played before the Lighthouse, a minor island error)

The Lighthouse (Restless Lighthouse Keeper)
(*can played before the Prison, above, which you see with the searchlight)
28. Pick up the torch and enter the lighthouse.
29. To climb the stairs, only go up one short distance at a time, then *duck* while the wind is blowing. If you come up while the leaves are blowing, it will blow out the torch and throw you back down the steps.
30. Climb the rope and set up your thermometer on the chamber wall.
31. Climb to the searchlight (you can see the prison), and jump down into the water or your boat. Sail back to the town beach. When you reach there, the thermometer alerts you. Sail back to the lighthouse.
32. Follow the ghostly torch up the steps (no wind now) and talk to the Lighthouse Keeper's ghost.
33. Take the boat and investigate the reef to the north (up). In the wreckage, you will find a locket that may have belonged to Fiona (the old woman). Take it back to the old house.

Haunted House
34. Return the locket to Fiona in the upstairs room, and pick up the book she drops, which has more information about Fiona, Valiant, and Henry Flatbottom. Go to the fountain to look for the ring she mentions.

Main Street and the Cemetery (resolution)
34. At the fountain, use the sardines to lure away the seagull, then pick up the ring. Take it to the Engraver's shed in the Cemetery (press gate B).
35. Show the ring to the Engraver and he will direct you back to a specific date in the archives of the newspaper (exit by pressing gate H).
36. Back at the Herald, go downstairs and turn the microfiche viewer to 1929. Zoom to view the paper and you discover that Henry Flatbottom is actually the Magistrate.
37. Go to the cemetery, enter and go to gate A. Go left to the open tomb, push the lid off, and climb down the ladder inside.
38. Make your way through the maze to reach the exit ladder at the far left. You can tell which way to turn by the pink flower petals that blow in through the correct doorway. The path takes you right, down, left, up, left, down, left up and right.
39. Exit through the hollow tree stump and wait for the Specter to approach. When he sneezes, run over and chase him back down through the stump.
40. In lot A, go right and catch him at the gravestone. The Specter is revealed to be the Magistrate, and the grave that of Fiona (the woman in the haunted house -- you were talking to her ghost). She remained true to Valiant and Flatbottom's plan failed. The 4 ghosts appear to forgive the Magistrate, and Fiona is reunited with her lost love Valiant. You receive the Island Medallion.
